Access to Prescription Drugs

Our volunteer physicians and nurses would not be able to appropriately treat a patient if that patient did not have access to prescription medication. Knowing that the cost of prescription medication often is the barrier preventing a patient from getting well or maintaining his or her health, the DuPage Community Clinic offers many low cost alternatives so that patients can afford their medications.

On Site Dispensary
The DuPage Community Clinic operates a small dispensary on site, providing some prescription medications to patients for a small donation. The DuPage Community Clinic receives some medications as samples from pharmaceutical companies and excess stock from local doctors offices.

Prescription Assistance Programs
In addition, the DuPage Community Clinic also assists patients in utilizing the pharmaceutical companies prescription assistance programs. Volunteers assist patients in completing applications, helping them keep their applications current, and being the designated distribution point for the medications.

Deep Discount Pharmacies
We also help patients identify which local pharmacies offer prescription drugs at deep discounts ($4.00 prescriptions). By calling in prescriptions at these pharmacies, we can make medications accessible for low cost.

Access DuPage
Access DuPage offers patients a prescription plan. Patients can pay a co-pay, (ranging from $10 to $50) for their medication, and can have their prescription filled in DuPage County.
