Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of the DuPage Community Clinic (DCC). Last year, volunteers provided over $1 million in donated services.

To start the volunteer process, we ask that you fill out an application, provide references and professional credentials (where applicable).  Volunteer physician applications are reviewed by our Medical Director, all other applications are reviewed by the Director of Volunteer Services.  Once all paperwork has been submitted and approved, volunteers are required to complete an orientation before they begin volunteering.

MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS

Vol Mary examining patient. The DuPage Community Clinic is always in need of volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, EMT's, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.  In addition to volunteer healthcare professionals, the clinic also has a wide array of non medical volunteer opportunities that support our team.

Physicians
The minimum number of patients you would see during one (approximately three hour) clinic is six.  Schedules are individualized and are meant to accommodate each physicians availability. As a physician, you will be able to order any needed labs or diagnostic procedure, specialty care and prescription drugs. Volunteering at the clinic is much like working in a private practice setting.

All physicians must provide copies of the following documents along with the volunteer application; Current State License Registration Certificate, State Controlled Substance Certificate, Current DEA Registration, Current Professional Liability Insurance Certificate of Coverage and name and address of agent (if applicable), Curriculum Vitae, Confidential Release, and Confirmation of Good Standing (if applicable).

We will give you a letter explaining malpractice coverage for free clinics (Good Samaritan Law); and a letter regarding an ISME policy available for physicians volunteering in free clinics.
